Turbine Condenser power plants are widely used in the power production business. This plant has been derated by over 10 MW due to poor air removal from its steam turbine condenser. We concluded that condenser vacuum can be improvised by at least 15 mm Hg by using the model no. CR Series-200S. Since the CR Series has been installed and started up, it drastically enhanced the condenser vacuum than the original test condition. Furthermore, the power plant picked up 5 MW of hidden capacity and the cost of the model Cr Series-200S was recovered within a month. The savings will go on as long as the plant remains in services. The power plants are finding huge application in the power production business due to additional kilowatt-hours of production or megawatts of uprating, which can be squeezed out of an existing unit. Recently, by replacing an old Vacuum System with Croll- Reynolds vacuum evactor, a local utility plant attained stealth capacity.
