Tapering Jacks

In power plant chimneys which are quiet high are tapered towards the top. The diameter at the base is higher and tends to decrease at the top. For this purpose special type of tapering or turn buckle spindle jacks are used. These jacks tighten the shuttering plates overlooping them one over the other to decrease the dia of the form. These jacks are also operated with the help of same hydraulic system which operates the lifting jacks. Two set of such jacks are employed one on the outer dia and one on the inner.
