Description
We provide a wide range ofsulphur rock chemical and have carved a niche for ourselves in this product category. It is a pale yellow brittle solid, non-conductor of heat and electricity. It is insoluble in water.
It is available in 3 forms, namely:
-
rhombic - it melts at 112. 8c
-
monoclinic - it melts at 118. 7c
-
crystalline sulphur dissolves in carbon disulphide.
It usually burns with a pale blue flame in air or oxygen forming sulphur dioxide mainly and a little sulphur tri-oxide. It is also known as native sulphur and is recovered from sulphur bearing rocks which contain about 20 sulphur and other impurities like clay, lime-stone, sand and gypsum. All these impurities are removed by 'liquation process' to get rock sulphur in pure form (98-99. 5%)
