Description
Our range of Sodium Thio Sulphate is widely used in Iodometric applications, photographic processing, gold extraction and as a component in hand warmers. Commonly called as thiosulphate, this chemical is a colorless crystalline compound in appearance and is more familiar as the pentahydrate, Na2S2O3•5H2O, an efflorescent, monoclinic crystalline substance also called sodium hyposulfite or "hypo."
Uses:
To remove chlorine from solns according to the eq Na2S2O3 4Cl2 5H2O 2NaHSO4 8 HCL and Na2S2O3 2 HCL.
As "antichlor" in bleaching of paper pulp, as fixer in photography. For extraction of silver from ores as mordant in dyeing and printing textiles: reducer in chrome dyeing manufacture leather bleaching bone, straw, ivory also as reagent in analytical chemistry.
