Shot Blasting Equipment

We are using Two different shot blasting processes, and each one is used for a different reason. Unlike straight sandblasting, which is almost always used to remove paint, rust, or other surface material, shot blasting has many more options and uses. Shot medium is sent through a hose using compressed air.
Chilled Iron

· Chilled iron has much the same properties as garnet, and can be reused. As with the garnet medium, chilled iron should not be used on softer objects which may suffer damage. It has a very rapid cleaning rate and is highly abrasive

Sand

· Sand is the most commonly used medium in shot blasting. Different grades (size and hardness of the grains) will net different results, depending on the desired result. Sandblasting will remove paint, rust, grease and just about anything else in its way
