sesbania is a legume also known as a "swamp pea". It is one of the finest quality quail foods available. Small bushy tree up to 15 feet tall with spectacular clusters of red flowers. Used for pipe-stems, substituted for hemp in rope, twine, cordage for fish net, and made into a cloth used for sails. Grown also for firewood, the plant is used for erosion control, hedges, intercropping "mother plants," nitrogen fixation, and windbreaks.
