Available with us is a exceptional variety of Pichwai painting which has traced its roots from Rajasthan and is a traditional form of fabric painting. It is more finer and detailed than Phads and are used as backdrops in the Shrinathji temple at Nathdwara and in other Krishna temples. The major theme used in these paintings is Shrinathji and his exploits.
Further, Pichwais are painted & printed with hand blocks woven or embroidered or decorated in appliqué. These paintings are created in dark rich hues on rough hand spun cloth and represent deep religious roots. Currently, Pichwais are painted in Udaipur and Nathdwara and the pichwai of Nathdwara is an embroidered cloth hanging which finds usage as decoration in temples and temple chariots.
