Description
Metallic Foils are used in Lithium-ion batteries as current collectors. Typically, Aluminum Foil is used as the positive electrode for the cathode current collector and Copper Foil is used as the negative electrode for the anode current collector. During the battery manufacturing process, anode and cathode slurries are coated on to the respective Foil types.
Targray offers a range of Cu Foils depending on the application of the Li-ion battery. A rolled foil (RA-type), made from wrought Cu is generally used for high-energy, high-power applications such as drivetrain and power tools. An Electro-Deposited (ED) foil is used in high-energy, low-power applications such as Li-ion batteries for cell phones, laptops and consumer electronics.
