COMPOSITION : Ivermectin and Albendazole
Description:
Ivermectin is an anti-parasite medication.
Ivermectin is used to treat infections in the body that are caused by certain parasites.
Albendazole (Albenza) is an oral broad-spectrum anthelmintic agent that is used to eradicate various parasitic worms from the body.
Indications and Usage:
It is traditionally used against worms. It is mainly used in humans in the treatment of onchocerciasis, but is also effective against other worm infestations (such as strongyloidiasis, ascariasis, trichuriasis, filariasis, enterobiasis, and some epidermal parasitic skin diseases, including scabies. It is effective against Flatworms, Flukes, Fasciolosis, Tapeworm, Cysticercosis, Echinococcosis, Nematodes, Enterobiasis, Trichuriasis Ascariasis and Hookworm.
Approved for the treatment of the following parasitic infections:
Hydatid Disease: Albendazole is used for the treatment of cystic hydatid disease of the liver, lung, and peritoneum, caused by dog tapeworm (Echinococcus granulosus) larvae.
Neurocysticercosis: Albendazole is used to treat parenchymal neurocysticercosis due to active lesion caused by pork tapeworm (Taenia solium) larvae.
Off-label use: Albendazole is also effective in treating infections caused by other parasites including Taenia saginata (beef tapeworm), Trichinella spiralis (pork worm), Trichuris trichiura (whipworm), Enterobius vermicularis (pinworm), Strongyloides stercoralis (threadworm), Ascaris lumbricoides (roundworm), Ancylostoma duodenale (hookworm), and Necator americanus (hookworm).
