The Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, disodium salt, dihydrate i.e. EDTA/Di- Sodium acid is a colorless, water soluble solid which acts as a ligand and chelating agent and used in DNA electrophoresis shield to restrain the metal-requiring nucleases. Apart from being suitable in textile and paper & pulp industry, it is also used for medicine and laboratory applications.
